Product Introduction

Chinese Litsea Cubeba Oil is steam‑distilled from the fresh ripe fruits of Litsea cubeba (Lour.) Pers. (May Chang, mountain pepper), a Lauraceae plant native to southern China. Major production areas are Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, Yunnan, Fujian—China’s prime Litsea cubeba belts.

It is a pale yellow to bright yellow clear liquid with an intense, fresh, sweet lemon‑spicy aroma, sharp and vivid. The dominant component is citral (70–80%, neral + geranial), plus methylheptenone, linalool, limonene, pinene, and eucalyptol. It offers potent antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti‑inflammatory, mood‑lifting, and insect‑repellent benefits, widely used in fragrance, food, skincare, and agriculture.
