Citronella oil

Citronella Oil (Java)

Product Introduction

Java Citronella Oil is steam‑distilled from the fresh or partially dried grass of Cymbopogon winterianus, a perennial grass in the Poaceae family. It is mainly produced in Indonesia, India and Southeast Asia, known as the high‑grade type of citronella oil.

The oil is a pale to deep yellow clear liquid with a strong, fresh, citrus‑lemony, slightly herbaceous aroma—more intense and long‑lasting than Ceylon citronella (Cymbopogon nardus). Its key components are citronellal (30–50%), geraniol (20–30%) and citronellol, giving it powerful insect‑repellent, antibacterial, antifungal, deodorizing and mood‑uplifting properties. It is widely used in natural repellents, aromatherapy, personal care, home fragrance and flavoring.
